Yesterday I had a chest x-ray to check on my lungs. I had spots when I started this process and last spring they disappeared. Since this is a difficult area to biopsy, we are not certain of its origin. The results from yesterday are that my lungs are still clear.
I am glad that it is clear. Thanks for all your concerns.

Well the minor surgery from hell is done. The good news is that the minor surgery went well for me. I have had very little post-surgery issues and feel better than I expected. I am very grateful for this. The hospital experience was absolutely yucchy! Do not ever stay at St David hospital in Austin.
It is difficult to determine what was worse - having them mixup the charts and think that I am Mrs Johnson, sending my friend to the incorrect recovery room to find a dying man(last name Cunningham) or getting sick alot from a bad anesthetia after the surgery. I was lucky to have a friend there to look out for me. I was delayed 4 hours and then getting sick delayed my release. They threatened to admit me and finally found the right anti-nausea drugs to treat me. I feel asleep on my way home and climbed into bed. I was happy to be home.
As a result of this surgery I will not have any periods. My cycles have been so bad that my oncologist agreed that we should stop them. Trying to treat them increases my risk of recurrence of cancer. Also with the procedure that I had I do not need hormone replacement therapy because I have all my parts. Nothing was removed.
I am thankful that my doctors stay on the cutting edge. This surgery has been used for about five years so now it is more accepted.
Just wanted to give an update. I am glad to complete another stage in this process.
Take Care and Hope you are well,
Marie

In Celebration of Life
Saturday, June 22nd 2002, In honor of her friends and family, Marie hosted a celebration at her home to say thank you to the many people who have supported her through out this process. The day was filled with splashes and children's laughter as friends' kids swam and pounded the pinata. The BBQ was great, the beer flowed like a natural spring and Colleen made margaritas that could knock down a Mexican national. It was a lot of fun. If anyone has some pictures pleas send to Melissa to post 'em at txsundwn23@yahoo.com
